Job work is contract manufacturing where Unity Facilities processes raw material or semi-finished goods supplied by a principal manufacturer — performing a defined operation such as drilling, milling, cutting, or painting — and returns the processed component without taking ownership of the underlying material. Job work lets you add a specific processing step — drilling, milling, cutting, or painting — without adding the machines, floor space, or headcount that operation would otherwise demand in-house. You keep ownership of the material; Unity performs the defined operation and returns the finished component.

Scope and material handover
Unity reviews the drawing, tolerance, and finish requirements with your engineering team, then receives the raw material or semi-finished parts on a documented gate-in.
Process execution
Our job-work team performs the agreed operation — drilling, milling, cutting, painting, or a combination — using the specifications and quality checkpoints you define, on your material, not ours.
Quality check and dispatch
Processed components are inspected against your acceptance criteria before dispatch back to your line, with full traceability on quantities in versus quantities returned.
Ongoing capacity, on demand
For clients running recurring job-work volumes, Unity holds standing capacity so a fresh production run doesn't require renegotiating terms from scratch each time.
Compliance specifics
Job work arrangements still put workers on Unity's premises or under Unity's supervision, which means the same statutory obligations apply as any manufacturing operation: compliance with the Factories Act for the premises and safety conditions where the work is performed, and — where Unity's own contract labour is engaged to execute the job work — registration and licensing obligations under the Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act.
We handle these obligations on our side of the arrangement so your procurement and legal teams aren't carrying compliance risk for work performed off your own premises.
